Competitive co-workers? #3718
If you work with highly competitive people, work may fell like a race – after a while, the constant competition many drain the energy and enjoyment from you and your job.
Here are a few tips:
· Treat your coworker with respect and recognize his or her achievements. This may make the person feel less insecure and therefore less likely to need to compete with you.
· That said, however, be sure to take credit for your own achievement.
· If you are working on a team with the person, emphasize that the whole is always greater that the sum of its parts and that the goal is to create a winning team.
Whatever steps you think about taking, be sure you follow company policies.
