Before you commit to an “age-restricted” community do your homework. #6143
Many people over 59 are drawn to age-limited communities where they hope to find the sorts of social activities that will fill their days once they are retired. Yet some older people who choose such a community face an unexpected result: boredom. Those with varied cultural and intellectual interest, and the capacity to program their own discretionary time could find life in an age-restricted community that’s located in a resort area to be especially monotonous when the pre-planned sociability occurs on a predictable schedule.
People who have tried this say all their neighbors ever talk about are their aches and pains, when cocktails will be serve and what’s for dinner.

Pantry moths? #6144
Chase them away with spearmint gum. Get a large package of gum; take the first wrapper off leaving the foil on. After washing the cabinets, put a few sticks on the shelves and also inside the containers where you store flour, rice, oatmeal, nuts and such.

Stinky Sneakers #6307
Sneakers smell a little off after a day of fun? Instead of buying pricey odor eaters, place a charcoal sachet in each shoe; simply cut the feet off an old pair of panty hose and place a piece of charcoal in each. The porous briquettes will absorb the odor-causing moisture, leaving shoes fresh smelling by morning.
