Shooting range precaution #6033

Before you get up to follow the animal after the shot, make sure you have the range from where you shot to the animal. And mark the spot where you 'shot' from. In open terrain it may be necessary to reverse-range to your shooting position to find the animal or a blood trail.

Choosing a Hunting Dog #6034

First of all, you should choose the right breed that you think would fit your needs for this activity. Some of the most common dogs used for hunting are Retriever, Hound, Labrador, Beagle, Spaniel, Terrier, and Brittany. Even if they have different features suitable for hunting their temperament differs. Try to pick the litter where the puppy came from. Even if they have hunting skills in their genes proper training is important for the efficiency of your dog.

How to keep your knife in good shape #6035

It's very important to always maintain a sharp knife. Sharpen it after each use. Never use knives as a lever. Be sure to put your knife back in its sheath if you are not using it. It is recommended to fit a cord to the knife’s lanyard hole so you don't lose it. Do not use your knife as a skewer. Never heat the knife unless you want to weaken the blades. To prevent your knife from being dull always remember to wash it.
