Simple Meditation #450

MEDITATION is simple. PRECISELY because it is simple, it looks difficult. Your mind is accustomed to dealing with difficult problems, and it has completely forgotten how to respond to the simple things of life.

Breath #682

"Breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness, which unites your body to your thoughts. Whenever your mind becomes scattered, use your breath as the means to take hold of your mind again."

Mindfulness #690

One way to prepare your mind for the practice of meditation is through mindfulness. Unlike meditation, mindfulness can occur in any place and at any time. Mindfulness only requires that you put yourself into the present and make your self aware of what is around you. Rather than absorbing yourself in one thing, whether it be on the computer at work or the TV at home, try to be mindful of everyone and everything. Notice details, experience all your senses, and discover how the moment is changing. This practice in your everyday, every moment life will lead you to a richer experience during meditation.
