HUG SOMEONE #6331
We need three hugs a day just to survive, eight to grow, twelve for self-actualization and seventeen to put a smile on your face.
Studies in Germany indicated that men who received a hug every day increased their performance and productivity at work, and decreased absenteeism.
Also the best predicting factor of a pre-schooler’s IQ is how much they were touched. Some of you may have to make up for lost time!

Ways to nurture a happy marriage #6466
Letting your spouse know that you understand hers or his perspective after a spat can make your union stronger. In a study in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, couples reflecting on recent conflicts reported having more faith in the relationship when they felt their partner “got” them. Feeling understood by one’s spouse reinforces a sense of deep connection, which buffers the harmful effects of disagreements.

Happier Marriage #6356
A study in the journal Psychological Science suggests before having a heart-to-heart with your husband be sure to kick off your high heels; doing so can make the conversation go more smoothly. Researchers had couples either balance on one foot or stand securely on two feet while they rated their relationship and wrote a letter to their partner. The wobbling group tended to quibble about their relationships while those positioned firmly in place saw their unions as stable and communicated lovingly with their partner. The credit goes to a phenomenon called “embodied cognition,” in which the brain equates physical states with conceptual ideas.
